S.two

S.two has defined the workflow for digital cinema acquisition. Based upon eight years experience as the market leader in uncompressed recording, we offer many workflow choices to suit any style of project, from feature to television, from commercials and short form to wildlife. The key is to automate repetitive, time consuming tasks to improve accuracy, efficiency and productivity without re-inventing the tasks or introducing new people to the production. In addition we provide quality control points along the way to ensure quality for any level of production. Finally, it is digital data, everything is already labeled, named, and tracked so automating the rest of the flow should be relatively easy, right? Only S.two has taken that step and provided cross referencing for the database files produced for offline and archive to allow for automated clip fetching (‘Neg Pull’) from the offline EDL.

OB-1

Free Your Camera

It's here - The lightest, smallest self-contained uncompressed recorder for HD, HD444 and raw production. Weighing in at under a remarkable 7lbs (3Kg) (including the removable FlashMag) and drawing under 20W of power, the OB-1 completes any digital cinematography camera, making them un-tethered, light enough for handheld or Steadicam operation, and powered directly from the camera. Not only is it light and low powered, the OB-1 is fully solid state and is completely silent in operation as it has no fans for those close up sound shots.

OB-1 fits onto most cameras and supports their native shooting modes. Use with the ARRI ALEXA or the new Alexa StudioCam for fully certified uncompressed ARRIRAW recording at 3K resolution.  The OB-1 provides anamorphic support, and allows you to shoot up to 60P with full ramping and variable frame rate support.  It even allows multi-cam support for 3D and advanced recording formats.

As it's from S.two, OB-1 reflects our unparalleled on set experience garnered through hundreds of feature movies, television periodicals, commercials and other projects shot around the globe. It has full external timecode support, dual channel analog sync guide, audio inputs, and full trigger and tally I/O. With a host of easy, intuitive operating modes, the OB-1 is designed for any user to walk up to it and get it going without training or experience.

OB-1 features the removable FlashMag - S.two's new solid state high capacity high bandwidth on board storage magazine. It features up to 36 minutes of uncompressed DPX file storage.  Unlike other flash-based solutions, the FlashMag is designed the rugged environment of shooting film in any situation. It features multiple levels of internal media redundancy - the FlashMag can shoot for years of trouble free production, and we offer a 10 YEAR WARRANTY on it as a reflection of that confidence.

Flashport

Flashport is a high speed, low cost means of viewing and transferring your image data files.  It does not require a specially configured computer as host; most any computer that can accept a PCI-e card can support the FlashPort. We offer the FlashPort complete with the host interface card and works on Windows, Mac OSX, and Linux systems.

Flashdock

The new field production solution for on set or location workflows.

The FlashDock mounts and plays back field recorded FlashMags from OB-1. It's a single source solution for all post tasks including
           -       material review (rushes)
           -       offline dailies creation
           -       archive
           -       and even copying to external drives.

FlashDock is small, light and features both AC and DC power for ultimate portability. Its robust and rugged construction means that it can be shipped, carried or sent anywhere and used in those places when it gets there, every time.

FlashDock features Dual Link or Single Link HD playback direct from FlashMag with RP188 embedded Timecode, and embedded audio, for easy one pass lay off to video tape. The FlashDock also provides automated, real time batch capture into offline editorial systems, using HD-SDI and RS422 control, just like a VTR. It is FAST and SIMPLE, taking advantage of the Final Cut Pro XML and Avid ALE files generated by the S.two OB-1 during recording.  These ensure that  Timecode, File Names, and metadata transfer occurs correctly and completely during Digitizing of the recorded Scenes and Takes.

The optional FlashDock expansion chassis allows the connection of one or two LTO data tape drives to make uncompressed data archives that are fully secure and easily retrievable.  We even provide a software tool, “NegPull”, to automate finding and retrieving your project using your EDL ! The FlashDock lets you archive on the set, in the jungle, on a boat or plane, or even in a helicopter - anywhere!
